The Cedar Kingston Plaza

About The Project:

The Cedar Kingston Plaza is a commercial development project involving the redevelopment of a vacated motel site on Ulster Avenue (NYS Route 9W) in Kingston, NY. The project included the demolition of existing vacant structures and the development of a new site plan for the plaza, which consisted of a Hampton Inn, CVS Pharmacy, Dunkin Donuts Restaurant and a Taco Bell Restaurant. One of the key engineering features was the design of an extensive subsurface drainage system which allowed the site developer to efficiently utilize the site while still meeting NYDEC storm water treatment regulations. The site’s innovative drainage system was featured in a trade magazine article, which can be read here. When completed, the project satisfied a community need for hotel and business lodging, pharmacy retail and restaurants for shoppers and commuters within an established regional commercial zone.
